SHIFTER Paperbacks

My next shipment of SHIFTER is finally in. The problem is that my order list is much longer than the number of books I have. Don't worry though, I should have another shipment in next week if UPS doesn't screw that one up as well. As I've said numerous times I'll fill orders in the order I received them. So starting in about an hour, I'm going to start sending out messages to the next few people on my order list and reminders to those who still haven't picked up their books. I'll be at the studio, Stained Glass Artistry) all day today, and will hopefully be setting up in front of the studio for First Friday. Those of you who haven't picked up your copy of ALONE can stop by any time today to grab a copy. I have eight copies left from my last order. :)

Thank you everyone for stopping by my blog. This is my second day on this tour. I’m so excited about this tour. I want to start my post by again thanking Emmy Gatrell for inviting me on this tour. For those of you who missed my earlier posts, Emmy Gatrell has been a voracious reader since an early age and recently launched her own writing career with the highly rated Meanmna: Book One of the Daearen Realms series. The follow up book, Bienn-Theine: Book One of the Daearen Realms continues her success. As the mother of two boys, Emmy continues balancing writing, reading, and parenting—not it that order. She and her family split their time between the North Georgia Mountains and Costa Rica.

Dimitri Sullivan is the main male character in my supernatural romance novel, Shifter. Dimitri was born nearly two hundred and forty years ago in the Tennessee area where he has lived most of his life, but he spends most of his time in the novel in present day Alabama.

Dimitri is at heart a family man. He is close to his two older brothers, Daniel Jr., Darius, Devan, and daily morns the death of his eldest brother, Daniel Jr. who died in a hunting accident years ago. All of the Sullivan boys along with most of their family/pack work for their father, Daniel Sr., at Sullivan’s Architects.

Until a having a one-night stand with a psychotic witch, Dimitri’s life had been easy and relatively calm. One month after that fateful night, Dimitri opened his front door to find the woman standing on his front porch in full-on crazy mode. A few misspoken words later and he found himself cursed, caged, and waiting outside the door of animal shelter miles away from his home.

Cursing his bad luck, bad judgment, and drunken hormones, he now has to find a way to free himself, break his curse, and get home. The only problem is that nothing he tries works until he meets a woman he believes he can fall in love with. Unfortunately, this woman might be falling for his older brother, Devan. Can he allow himself to do the one the thing the witch was sure he would never do, or will he let her fall into the arms of another man?

Find out how Dimitri breaks his curse and saves the woman he loves today by downloading your copy of Shifter. eCopies of Shifter and my first novel Alone are on sale this week for only $.99. Stop by Amazon, Smashwords, Barnes and Noble, or Google Play today to download your copy. To find out more about this novel, visit me on Facebook, Goodreads, Pinterest, and Twitter.

Stop by next Monday to meet another one of my characters from Shifter.

Don’t want to wait a week to meet new and intriguing characters, then stop by Mardi Maxwell’s blog to meet Cade Ramsey from To Love and Obey the first book of her The Doms of Club Mystique.

Here is what Marti has to say about herself: “I was born in Utah but I've lived in sunny California, hot and dry west Texas, and the mountains of Colorado. I wrote and sent in my first book in 2013 and to my surprise it was accepted. Since then I've written three more books in The Doms of Club Mystique series.

When I'm not writing I'm reading, gardening, cooking, and spending time with my family and friends. I've just begun doing ceramics again (I'll post some of my projects on my blog) and I try to swim several times a week. The rest of my time is spent cleaning and refilling the birdbath and birdfeeders in my yard (greedy birds) and traveling.”:-)

After you leave Marti’s page, stop by Ashe Barker’s blog to meet Summer Jones from Rich Tapestry.

Ashe Barker says that, “Until 2010 I was a director of a regeneration company in Leeds, in the UK, before becoming convinced there must be more to life. So I left, and at last I’ve been able to realise my dream of writing erotic romance. I’ve been an avid reader of fiction for many years, erotic and other genres, and I still love reading historical and contemporary romances – the hotter the better. But now I have a good excuse for my guilty pleasure – research. In my own writing I tend to draw on settings and anecdotes from my own experience to lend colour, detail and realism to my plots and characters. An incident here, a chance remark there, a bizarre event or quirky character, any of these can spark a story idea. But ultimately my tales of love, challenge, resilience and compassion are the conjurings of my own lurid and smutty imagination. When not writing – which is not very often these days - my time is divided between my role as resident taxi driver for my teenage daughter, and caring for a menagerie of dogs, rabbits, tortoises. And most recently a very grumpy cockatiel. I’m a rural parish councillor, and I’m passionate about evolving rural traditions and values to suit twenty first century lifestyles. I write for Totally Bound and now have over a dozen titles on general release, with several more in the pipeline. A Richness of Swallows is my fourth trilogy in the Black Combe ‘family’. I also have a ‘May to September’ style novella out and short stories in the Paramour and Jolly Rogered collections, as well as a stand-alone novel in the ‘What’s Her secret?’ imprint. I have a pile of story ideas still to work through, and keep thinking of new ones at the most unlikely moments, so you can expect to see a lot more from me. I love to hear from readers. You can find me on my blog, and on the Totally Bound site. I’m on Facebook, and twitter. I’m on Pinterest too, and Goodreads.”

SHIFTER'S Four Week Aniversary

SHIFTER has been out for four weeks today. The novel has received nothing but four and five star reviews to date. You guys have been so amazing. Your outpouring of love for this novel is wonderful. For those of you on the fence about this novel, go check out what numerous readers, reviewers, and bloggers are saying about the novel. If you like romance but aren't a fan of all the magic, you will be happy to know this novel isn't weighed down with the supernatural. If you are worried about the content, I promise this novel is nowhere near as graphic as Fifty Shades of Grey, and I promise the story line, characters, and grammar are much better as well. :) The novel is available in both paperback and ebook at multiple online retailers or you can message me your name and information and I will put you on my order list. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00M8HLU2U

My Review of JK Rowling's The Casual Vacancy

This novel is a perfect example of why JK remains one of my favorite authors. I loved this book. No this novel isn't the wholesome, fun for the entire family novel the Harry Potter series, but it is just as captivating.

A Casual Vacancy starts with the death of one man and the aftermath. Who would have thought that the death of one person could change so many lives? Yes, those closes to him are, of course affected, but some of the people in this novel had never met him.

At first the amount of characters and shifting points-of-view was a bit overwhelming, and I wasn't sure how she was going to make me care about these people and the death of one single person, but the way she delves into their lives, interweaves them, and shows us the hidden truths behind human nature was alluring. Her storytelling drew me end and held my attention every step of the way. These characters were my neighbors, my family, my friends, my small town. Even now, I want to know more, could have stayed in that world for a couple of hundred pages. I've laughed, cried, felt heartbroken, been repulsed, been envious, and every other emotion humanly possible throughout this entire novel.

I can't wait to see what she does next.

Today I would like to introduce you to the female main character in my supernatural romance, Shifter, Abigail Lynn Sinclair, Abby for short. Abby is nearly thirty years old, and was born and raised in modern day Alabama.

Abby is a recluse. She lives alone, works from home, and even shops online, something her younger sister insists, “is so not natural”. Abby is a loving person who lives for her sister, Carrie, and Carrie’s children. The only decent man in Abby and Carrie’s life, their father, died when they were in high school, but before that their mother divorced their father to marry a man who in their words was an “asshole.” Shortly after their father passed away, their mother ran off with their stepfather, never to be heard from again. Unconsciously, their stepfather becomes the basis for their future bad relationships.

Carrie married a man who started out in Abby’s words “as Prince Charming but had quickly turned into Lord Voldemort when she found out she was pregnant with their third child.” Abby on the hand fell in love with a man who from day one was physically, emotionally, and verbally abusive. He would starve her when he thought she was too fat, shovel food down her throat if he thought she was too skinny. He would beat her, burn her, and photographed all of this to further demean her. Only through shear dumb luck was she able to escape the relationship with her life and all the evidence of her abuse. Despite being out of the relationship, the abuse she suffered permanently damaged her.

Feeling as if the world will see her the way her ex-boyfriend did, she hides in her home with her work and her cat. Over time, she lets herself go and becomes overweight, which only further perpetuates her feelings of self-loathing. Her sister and the few friends she has try to get her out of the house, to date, to join the world, but it isn’t until she adopts a cat who acts more human than he does feline, has a run in with a crazy woman, and meets a gorgeous man who tells her she is beautiful, that she finally breaks out of her shell. Thinking that she isn’t skinny enough or pretty enough for the new man in her life, she decides that she has to make some big changes in her life. She wants to learn to love herself, excerpt herself for who she is, and to love again.

To find out more about Abby and how she changes her life, read Shifter. This supernatural romance is on sale at most online retailers in either eBook and paperback form. To purchase a copy visit: Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Google Play, or Smashwords. To find out more about this novel visit the novel’s Facebook and Goodreads pages.

Stop my next Monday to meet another one of my characters from Shifter and to meet Mardi Maxwell the author of The Doms of Club Mystique series. On her blog, she will be introducing us to one of her wonderful characters.

Here is what Marti has to say about herself:

“I was born in Utah but I've lived in sunny California, hot and dry west Texas, and the mountains of Colorado. I wrote and sent in my first book in 2013 and to my surprise it was accepted. Since then I've written three more books in The Doms of Club Mystique series.

Another Chapter Finished

I've met my writing quota for the day. Chapter 13 in my still untitled ghost/love story is complete. This chapter was a little longer than the last few and was a little more heart breaking, but I got through it.

Here is a little teaser from the chapter I just finished:

“I love you. I truly do, but I want to live, and part of living is loving, and a part of loving is feeling the other person, is kissing them, making love to them, is having them hold you in their arms when you need comforting. I miss all of that.”

Enjoy your Sunday everyone.

My Shocking News of the Day!

Oh, I forgot to mention in my earlier post that while I was at The Blue Door shopping with mom, I got a phone call from my aunt. We are having a random conversation when she says, as if it is nothing, "and your mom maw read Shifter." Wait what, my brain screams. I know I've heard this wrong. Not even a week ago, she told me that Mom Maw wouldn't read the novel because of all of the bad words. So I asked her to rewind and repeat that. She proceeds to tell me that after she finished the novel, she handed it to my cousin to read, but before he could start it, Mom Maw had taken it from him and started reading it again. Three days later, Mom Maw is now three chapters away from finishing it, and says she will tell me what she thinks when she finishes. She did make a funny about the the number of times Abby has an org...well, I won't go into all of that, let's just say I was shocked that my mom maw even said the word. I love my family.

I'm keeping my readers up all night. :)

I saw one of my readers today while out shopping with my mom. Of course, I asked the same question I've been asking for weeks now: "Have you read it, yet?"
She said, "I read it in a day and a half."
I asked, "Did you like it?" As if it wasn't obvious by her answer.
Smiling, she said, "At four that morning when my husband got up for work, he asked why I was still up. I said, I'm almost done."
"I take that as a yes, then." We laughed, and she asked when my next novel is coming out.
I absolutely love that you guys love this novel so much. Hearing such high praise makes me all giddy. :) :) :) :)

Back to Writing.

I'm finally back to writing. I sent HIM to Kathryn today, played around with the cover for my next short story, and finally got back to my ghost story that really needs a title. I wrote an entire chapter today. Go me. Here is a little peak at what I worked on: “Erica,” he shouted and spun toward me. “You aren’t thinking of committing suicide, are you?”

Meet My Character Blog Tour: Thank you to Emmy Gatrell

HIM

Well, it is done. I've sent HIM to my editor. As most of you know, HIM is my third novel, and I'm hoping to release it in January of 2015. This novel is a bit different than ALONE and SHIFTER. HIM explores the life of young woman who spends her entire life dodge her sexually and physically abusive uncle. I do forewarn you guys that this novel will be graphic and a bit rough to get through. It is a HEA novel, but before it gets to that point, the story has a few hard scenes.

Now that HIM is in someone else's hands, I'm going to focus on my next short story and my next novel.
