Among The Dead follows the young, self-proclaimed hero Sam as he leaves his family and the quarantined safety of his city: Bristol. He is searching for the love of his life, Alice, who he lost contact with. He doesn’t even know if she is alive but he has to believe everything will be fine.
The world was barely ending, yet it was already falling apart. The citizens of England are under a martial law, the Government acted like nothing was wrong, violence spread among the cities, and the dead were walking.
Sam will be faced with decisions he could never be prepared for; he will face questions of his own morality. Worst of all, Sam will realize he isn’t the hero of the books and video-games he thought he was. This is the real world. There are monsters walking the streets; living and dead.

Authors Note: This book series will have a lot of content which could be considered "distressing" to some. It will use tropes associated with apocalypse fiction, including violence and abuse on physical and mental level. This will not be the case for every book but, as a series in general, it deals with some very dark themes. Please be aware of this before buying it.

I probably won’t get much writing done next week, but that’s all right because this week I finished the second draft of Sweet Sixteen, an AWAKE short story, and the first draft of Childhood’s End, another Shore Haven short story. I have the cover for it, and I’ll reveal it during the release party. I didn’t set up an actual event page for the release. I’ll be posting everything on Alone’s FB page, so be sure to like the page and click following so that you’re notified when I post something new.
In my personal life, I’m sitting on some potentially big news. My husband and I are waiting to see how things play out over the next week or so before I reveal the news. No, Mom, we aren’t having a baby. LOL!!!!

I haven’t done much this week aside from write, clean house, and play with my kitties.
I’ve ordered a few items for Shore Haven’s Release Party. They should be in next week. I also order some Shore Haven Rack cards that I’ll include with gifts. They came in today. They look awesome aside from the fact that the font or something makes some of the words run together, but I’m all right with that...I have to be, right. They are already here. LOL!
My editor is still working on Leaving Liberty. I don’t know if it’ll be out by the time Shore Haven is, but that’s all right. All of the short stories should work well on their own, but as with any story set in a novel’s world, it’s always a good idea to have read the novel beforehand. Once she finishes, Leaving Liberty, I’ll send her Hostage. I’ve nearly finished a third short story set in that world, so she’ll most likely get it after Hostage, even though, Sweet Sixteen, an Awake short story is nearly ready for editing. Since Awake won’t go to editing until March or so and probably won’t be out until the end of the year, Sweet Sixteen can wait a bit.
Speaking of Awake, I’m about halfway through my last read-through, so I’m still on schedule with that novel. I’ll probably take on a second editor this year to help me stay caught up on it all. Thanks to Melanie Smith, I already have someone in mind.
I think I mentioned this last week, but I’ve also started working on Fated again. I’m taking my time with it, as Shore Haven, Awake, and their short stories take priority at the moment.

I got to see Metallica live in concert Tuesday night in Birmingham, AL. They were freaking amazing. I have pictures and videos all over my author FB page and my personal page. Feel free to check them out.
Everything else I’ve done this week pales in comparison, but I’ll tell you what’s been going on anyway.
The biggest thing I did was finish the first draft of Sweet Sixteen. The short story is more like a prologue to Awake, but I’m not going to include it in the novel. I’m releasing it on its own for free sometime in the summer or fall.
I’m still working on my last draft of Awake and should be sending it my editor in March.
Hostage is with a few beta readers while I wait for Leaving Liberty to come back from editing.
I’ve ordered rack cards for Shore Haven and placed an order for some of the prizes I’ll be giving away during the novel’s release party, which should run from February 11th through the 17th.
All of my romance fans will be happy to know that I started working on Fated, again. What I’m doing is reading what I’ve written so far to remind myself of the story. I have a tentative outline, but since it has been so long since I’ve given the novella my full attention, I want to start from the beginning.
