I haven't done much writing this week, but I have been doing some editing on AWAKE, so I thought I would give you guys a snippet from the novel. Enjoy. :) :)

Over a hundred years ago, a series of earthquakes and tsunamis devastated the world. They broke apart continents and left most of the planet covered in water. Those few who survived were determined to rebuild the world the best they could. Bridges went up, large amounts of money went into figuring out what was causing low birthrates, and C.D.C facilities stayed busy working on cures for illnesses that came along with the contaminated waters.
Not everyone grew comfortable in the new world, though. In the center of Liberty Island, the United States’ new capital, a compound was arising. Rumors about the compound abounded despite the owners’ assurance that Shore Haven was nothing more than a self-sustaining safe haven from any future catastrophes.
What the owners of Shore Haven and the rest of the world weren’t prepared for was a plague the likes of which they’d only seen in old world movies. Illnesses were something the world understood, but people dying then returning to devour those left behind was not.
Only a handful of people on Liberty survived the initial outbreak thanks to Shore Haven, but escaping the dead isn’t the only threat they’ll have to face when radio transmissions reveal that the rest of the world is determined to keep the dead from spreading.

Weekly Writing Update
Weekly Writing Update:
I managed to write a whole 500 words last week, pushing the alien piece to right at 40,000.
We only had one doctor's appointment this week, and it was at 930 this morning, so maybe I'll get to do some writing this week.
I am planning a party that should run from June 22nd to June 28th. Be sure to check out the pinned post on my The Supernaturals Series Facebook page each day for that day's giveaway. I'll be giving away t-shirts, notebooks, cups, etc.
Things blew up again this past week at home, which prevented me from getting too much done. I actually left and told my husband I wouldn't return unless a few things happened. Since then things have been a bit calm. I think my leaving actually scared them. If I didn't return, they were looking at going into a nursing home. I know that sounds bad, but I also have to think about my safety, and something happened that felt on the verge of jeopardizing that safety. As I've said things are okay now and should continue to be so if my husband continues to enforce the ground rules he set down.
On a happy note, my husband and I got nearly six whole hours to ourselves over the weekend, which was amazing. His birthday was Sunday, so we went out Saturday night had dinner.
I hope everyone has a calm, happy week. Wish me lots of writing. :) :)

I have nothing to update. I've done absolutely no writing for two weeks. Sorry.
I did do an Amazon Giveaway this week with Marked. I enjoyed it so I will be doing more in the future.
I'm also planning an anniversary party for Shifter around the end of this month. Keep an eye out for that. I picked a few cool goodies from Windy's Whimsy for you guys.
We have a lot of doctor's appointments this week, and we're still dealing with an open wound on his toe, so I don't know if I'll get too much writing this week or not. FIL is a good bit more mobile, though, so perhaps next week, I'll get back to writing.
Another reason for the lack of writing is this:
I had a breakdown the week before the fourth, to the point that I was nearly committed. No, I wasn't suicidal. I just need a break from my life. I can deal with dementia and ministrokes, taking care of the house and waiting on them. What I can't handle is being treated like garbage for it. Neither of them is far enough along in their health issues to be completely unaware of what they say and do. FIL sometimes forgets right after, but there are a lot of days like today where he sits around and looks for things to be mean to me about. My doctor settled on changing my meds and sending me to a neuropsychiatrist, whom I'll see at the end of the month, and I'll start seeing my therapist tomorrow morning. I've also informed my husband that he needs to talk to my FIL's neurologist about a med change for him. With dementia, there probably isn't too much they can do for him, but they'll to try something if they want me to continue to care for him at home.
I hope everyone's week has been better than mine. If not, I'm sending you a big virtual hug and kiss.

To be honest, I don't have much to update. Last week was full of doctor's appointments and daily bandage checks, so I didn't get much writing done. FIL has an open wound on his right foot that we thought was infected, but it just looks nasty.
I haven't heard anything on Shore Haven. I did send the cover artist a message, but I haven't heard anything from her. She was running a special, so I hope she merely busy with everyone who sent a request and not ignoring me. I haven't paid, so if I don't hear from her in a few weeks, I'll contact the lady that did Captive's cover. At this rate though, the book won't be out until sometime next year. I don't like that, but considering what I'm dealing with, I can't really rush anyone.
I made a little headway with the alien piece. I'm so close to 40,000 words, I can smell it. Sigh. I'm enjoying aggravating my main character right now. Another character is pissing her off, and she can't figure out why. I know why, and I love keeping the secret to myself. HEHEHEHE!!!!!! I'm evil. ;)
