Thank you, everyone, for stopping by my Snippet Sunday & Writing Warriors’ #8Sunday blog hop post. For the next few weeks, I’ll be posting from my new release, Resistant, a sci-fi/horror romance. Resistant is romance set in the middle of the zombie apocalypse.
In this excerpt, Sahara, the main character, is alone and unwilling to leave her house due to the zombies roaming her neighborhood.
My neighborhood had been a little quiet the last few days, but there were still zombies wandering up and down the street and in and out the alleys between some of the homes. How and where they were finding things or people to eat, I had no idea. I took aim at one zombie who resembled our gym teacher at the high school and fired. I hit the thing in the shoulder. The bullet barely grazed it. The zombie flinched slightly, cocked its head in my direction, and began to make its way toward the house.
I took aim and fired again. This bullet took off the top of its head. I did a little dance at my success then spat a round of curses as three more zombies came out of hiding at the smell of the finally-dead zombie’s blood.
So they feed off each other, I thought. Good to know.
Thank you for stopping by. If you want to read more excerpts from other authors or if you want to join in the fun, stop by both blogs and peruse their sights.
