Thank you, everyone, for stopping by my ninth Weekend Writing Warriors’ #8Sunday and my eleventh Snippet Sunday post. First, I want to apologize for being absent. I’ve been dealing with a personal medical issue since the last week of January, then on the 15th of February I got food poisoning, then a few days later my husband and got the flu, and we’ve had it ever since. I’m getting better, but slowly.
If you want to read more excerpts from other authors or to join in the fun, stop by both blogs and peruse their sights.
Today’s excerpt comes from chapter two of NEW RELEASE—on sale today—HIM, a suspense/thriller. This snippet is a section of a transcript of a session between Amy and her therapist. Her therapist is trying to get her to open up about what her uncle has done to her. (This snippet is one line short. I hope no one minds. I could find a way to add an extra line from the scene.)
Amy: Don’t say that man’s name, please. I can’t bear to hear his name.
Dr. Murphy: All right. Why don’t you tell me more about what he did to you?
Amy: What, you want specifics?
Dr. Murphy: To an extent, yes, but let’s start small. Can you remember the first time your uncle touched you inappropriately?
