What I've Read this Week 4-24-15

April 24, 2015

I finished listening to this wonderful paranormal fantasy Friday night. The Light Who Shines is my new addiction. I highly recomend it. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/22878008-the-light-who-shines

I finished OUTLANDER Wednesday night. Loved the emotional roller-coaster this novel took me on. I am looking forward to the next novel, but I think I have to let my heart and nervous stomach rest for a week or so. I highly recommend this novel. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/10964.Outlander?from_search=true&search_exp_group=group_a&search_version=service

The Softer Side of Kink is a very entertaining and enlightening collection of sexual fantasy collected by the author from woman of all walks of life. In this short piece Rhoda exposes the world to the realities of female sexuality and fantasy. American's are sexually repressed and our women are worse. As Rhoda points out we a dissuaded from voicing the fact that we have desires let alone from saying what those desires are. The most interesting part of this collection is that we see that a great deal of women have both varied and similar desires. These may or may not be acts that we would actually do, but they are things we think about, fantasize about, and if we are comfortable enough with are partners will discuss doing.

I gave this collection four stars for a few minor reasons. One, I think the title "Softer Side of Kink" as slightly misleading. When I downloaded it I expected sweet, innocent, tame stories, not something I might find in Penthouse letters. Don't get me wrong, I loved the surprise, as I tend to not like stories that sugarcoat the sex scenes. But I think some might be off put by the graphic scenes, which are so hot by the way.

Second, I was a little unsure on who the stories were written to. I started out under the impression that these women were telling the author their fantasies, but the tone switches to some of them telling them to their partners.

I like the sex tips, and think the piece could have used more, interspersed throughout the novel. I in the next volumes, I would like to see a wider variety of fantasies. Whereas the stories were different in their own way most kept with the same thing, domination--Not that I minded. ;)

I think this collection is worth reading for any woman whose sex-life is unsatisfying or how is wanting to try new things.
